There are no miracle diets: the better diet is lifestyle, healthy food and exercise can help. However, there are two recommended healthy plans, both alike. One is DASH (it has nothing to do with the Kardashians), which stands for Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension, and is recommended by The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NIH). The other one is TLC, Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes, from National Institutes of Health.
Both are very similar.
Fat: eat no more than 20-30% calories daily. Eat proteins and sugars. And no more than 3 grams salt daily. Include in your plan: fiber, potassium, calcium and vitamins B12 and D. Mediterranean and Atlantic diets also have the same components. Adults shouldn’t have more than 2,000 calories per day.
Combine a healthy diet with physical exercise. Choose the one that better fits to you, and exercise daily at least five days per week. Physical exercise has very positive effects on your metabolism: the way your body uses what you eat.
